Orange barrels on a highway

Hwy 5 resurfacing project in Washington County begins May 12

ROSEVILLE, Minn. –  Motorists may experience intermittent, off-peak lane closures and possible delays as crews resume repair and resurfacing work on a segment of Hwy 5 between Oakdale and Oak Park Heights on Monday, May 12.

Beginning at 7 a.m., crews will start patching and repairing the four-lane section of eastbound Hwy 5 between 53rd Street and Hwy 36 in Oak Park Heights. At 9 a.m., crews will move to the westbound lanes. All lanes will re-open by 7 p.m. daily between May 12 and May 16.

In late May, motorists will again encounter off-peak lane closures as crews return to the work zone to repave the road.

Drivers should plan to navigate the work zone with care as crews complete their work.

The entire project is scheduled for completion by mid-June, weather permitting.
