Open house for Hwy 101/61 project scheduled for May 22
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Area residents and business owners are invited to attend an open house to learn about the Southwest Reconnection Project at Hwys 101 and the County Road 61 (Flying Cloud Drive) corridor.
The open house will be Thursday, May 22 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Chanhassen Public Library, 7711 Kerber Boulevard.
Open house attendees will learn about the details of the project and view project layouts. Project partners will be available to answer questions.
This project includes building a new four-lane Hwy 101 that spans the floodplain between the existing Hwy 101 Minnesota River Bridge in Shakopee and County Road 61/Flying Cloud Drive in Chanhassen. The goal of the project is to minimize transportation disruptions caused by seasonal flooding of the Minnesota River. Additionally, the Hwy 101/County Road 61 “Y” intersection will be reconstructed as a roundabout to accommodate the new Hwy 101 Bridge, future traffic growth, and future improvements to Hwy 101 north of the project area.
