Numerous I-694 lane, ramp closures begin Sunday evening, May 4, in northwest Twin Cities suburbs
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Beginning Sunday evening, May 4, motorists should watch for lane and ramp closures day and night on both directions of Interstate 694 between I-35W in Arden Hills and Highway 100 in Brooklyn Center. Nearby ramps also will close so crews can complete concrete repairs, paving and drainage work. Closures on I-694 will continue for the next few weeks, weather permitting.
No two ramps will be closed consecutively and there will be no lane closures on the interstate during morning or evening rush hours.
In addition, daily lane closures begin Monday, May 5 on Long Lake Road and Silver Lake Road between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday to improve pedestrian access. The ramps to and from I-694 will be closed each day during the same time. Work should be completed by Friday, May 9.
Northbound Silver Lake Road also will be restricted to a single lane. And the ramp from Silver Lake Road to eastbound I-694 will close from 9 a.m. Monday, May 5 until 3 p.m. Friday, May 9.
During the closures, motorists should use alternate routes to avoid congestion.
Concrete repairs, resurfacing and drainage work extends the life of the interstate and saves money while providing smoother and more reliable transportation for Twin Cities’ travelers.
