Pavement repairs on Metro roadways begin June 2
Overnight lane closures scheduled on I-35/I-35E/I-494/Hwy 610
ROSEVILLE, Minn. - Motorists on four Metro area interstate and state highways may encounter off-peak, overnight lane closures as crews seal the pavement joints to prevent the roads from deteriorating.
Beginning at 7 p.m., Monday, June 2, crews will seal the pavement joints on the following roads:
- I-35 between Highway 95 in North Branch and County Road 9/Goose Creek Road in Harris,
- I-35E between County Road 96 in White Bear Lake to I-35 in Lino Lakes,
- I- 494 between Highway 5 in Eden Prairie and I-394 in Minnetonka,
- Highway 610 between Elm Creek Boulevard in Maple Grove and Highway 169 in Brooklyn Park.
The preventative maintenance project is expected to be complete by June 20, 2014, weather permitting. Motorists should plan to slow down and drive with caution through the work zone.
Pavement joints are sealed to keep water and moisture out of the pavement. The maintenance process can extend the life of the pavement and prevent the need for more costly repairs in the future.
