Weekend closure of Hwy 62 in Minneapolis/Edina begins April 11
ROSEVILLE, Minn – Motorists traveling in Minneapolis and Edina will encounter a weekend detour on both directions of Hwy 62 as crews close the roadway to demolish the Xerxes Avenue Bridge.
Beginning at 10 p.m., Friday, April 11, Hwy 62 between Hwy 100 and Interstate 35W will close so crews can demolish the bridge deck. The Hwy will re-open by 5 a.m., Monday, April 14.
Eastbound Hwy 62 to France Avenue will remain open for hospital traffic only.
During the closure, westbound Hwy 62 traffic will be detoured to I- 494 and to Hwy 100. Eastbound Hwy 62 traffic will be detoured to I-494 and to I-35W.
