Orange barrels on a highway

Work at Hwy 55/Plymouth Boulevard intersection begins April 28

Right turn lane from eastbound Hwy 55 to Niagara Lane closing for one week

ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists traveling on Hwy 55/Olson Memorial Hwy in Plymouth will experience intermittent delays and off-peak lane closures at Plymouth Boulevard/Niagara Lane beginning Monday morning, April 28 through late June.

Crews will first close the right turn lane from eastbound Hwy 55 to Niagara Lane beginning April 28. The closure will remain in place for one week.
The eastbound and westbound left turn lanes from Hwy 55 to Plymouth Boulevard/Niagara Lane will close in early May. The two left turn lanes will remain closed until early June.

Work through late June includes:

  • Constructing an additional left turn lane from westbound Hwy 55 to Niagara Lane.
  • Extending the current eastbound Hwy 55 left turn lane to Plymouth Boulevard.
  • Adding a left turn lane from Plymouth Boulevard to eastbound Hwy 55.

In addition, crews will make accessibility improvements and rebuild the traffic signals at the intersection.

Extending and adding turn lanes will shorten driver wait times, reduce fuel costs and improve safety and traffic flow on the Hwy.

MnDOT urges motorists to always drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
