Southbound Hwy 169 in Edina, Eden Prairie closing April 27–July 3
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists traveling southbound on Hwy 169 in the western Twin Cities metro area will encounter a detour at Hwy 62 beginning late-Sunday night, April 27 through July 3.
Southbound Hwy 169 will be closing between Highway 62 and Valley View Road in Edina and Eden Prairie as crews begin resurfacing the road and reconstructing the southbound bridge deck over Hwy 62.
Motorists traveling southbound on Hwy 169 during the closure will be detoured to Hwy 212and I-494. Southbound Hwy 169 from I-394 to Bren Road will be open to local traffic only.
The work is part of a larger construction project on Hwy 169 that will require three full weekend closures of the Hwy 169/Hwy 62 interchange through September. Additional work will include:
- Reconstructing the northbound bridge deck over Hwy 62.
- Resurfacing the Valley View Road and Hwy 62 entrance/exit ramps.
- Installing guardrails and improving drainage systems.
- Resurfacing northbound Hwy 169 between Bren Road and Valley View Road.
The resurfacing project features concrete repair. Performing periodic concrete pavement repairs at the correct time can greatly increase a road’s lifespan before costly reconstruction is needed.
