Orange barrels on a highway

Ramsey County Road 96 in Arden Hills fully opened this afternoon

Two lanes of traffic flowing in each direction

ROSEVILLE, Minn. – With final construction work completed today, Ramsey County Road 96 opened to two lanes in each direction between Hamline Avenue and Interstate 35W in Arden Hills early this afternoon. After the new Highway 10/County Road 96 interchange and surrounding ramps and loops opened in mid-November, County Road 96 remained a single lane in each direction.

The traffic restrictions allowed crews to work on the noise walls and attenuators at the Highway 10 bridges over County Road 96. Attenuators serve as crash barriers to absorb and reduce the impact from motor vehicle collisions with fixed objects such as bridges or retaining walls.

Motorists should continue to watch for construction vehicles as work continues on the new signal systems at Round Lake Road/Prior Avenue and the intersection of County Road 96 and Old Highway 10 (County Road 76) at the exit ramp from eastbound Highway 10.

A map and more detailed information about the project is available on the I-694 North Central Projects website at: http://www.mndot.gov/metro/projects/694expand/.
