Gateway State Trail closure to remain in place until late November

Closure needed for continued Cayuga project construction

ROSEVILLE, Minn. – St. Paul pedestrians and bicyclists will continue to encounter a closure as the Gateway State Trail between L’Orient Street and Cayuga Street remains closed for I-35E Cayuga construction project activities.

Pedestrians and bicyclists will continue to be directed to use East Cayuga Street, Jackson Street, Maryland Avenue and L’Orient Street to bypass the closure. The trail is currently anticipated to reopen on Wednesday, Nov. 27.

Pedestrians and bicyclists are reminded to approach areas near construction with caution and to pay attention to posted signage.

The work is part of the I-35E Cayuga improvement project, which aims to reconstruct I-35E between University Avenue and Maryland Avenue, including replacement of the Cayuga Bridge, the Pennsylvania Avenue Bridge and the railroad bridges along I-35E.
