Off-peak lane closures scheduled on Hwy 61 and Interstate 494, Oct. 7
Xcel Energy crews making repairs in Newport
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists will encounter lane closures on Hwy 61 and Interstate 494 in Newport as Xcel Energy crews begin crossing power lines on Monday, Oct. 7.
At midnight, the left lane in both directions on Hwy 61 between Maxwell Road and Interstate 494 will intermittently close. At 12:30 a.m., both directions of I-494 between Hwy 61 and Carver Road will be reduced to a single lane.
Flaggers will direct motorists through the work zone. The lanes will re-open by 5 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8.
Additionally at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 8, both directions of I-494 between Maxwell Road and Carver Road will be reduced to a single lane. The lanes will re-open by 2 p.m.
Motorists should prepare to slow down in work zone areas.
