Gateway State Trail scheduled to close Oct. 25

Closure needed for continued Cayuga project construction

ROSEVILLE, Minn. – St. Paul pedestrians and bicyclists will encounter a closure as the Gateway State Trail between L’Orient Street and Cayuga Street closes early Friday, Oct. 25..

Pedestrians and bicyclists will be directed to use East Cayuga Street, Jackson Street, Maryland Avenue and L’Orient Street to bypass the closure. The trail will remain closed for approximately one week.

Previously scheduled to begin Oct. 28, the trail closure was rescheduled to facilitate pipe work in the area before colder temperatures set in.

Pedestrians and bicyclists are reminded to approach areas near construction with caution and to pay attention to the posted signs.

The work is part of the I-35E Cayuga improvement project, which includes reconstructing I-35E between University Avenue and Maryland Avenue, including replacement of the Cayuga Bridge, the Pennsylvania Avenue Bridge and the railroad bridges along I-35E.
