Orange barrels on a highway

Overnight closure planned Thursday, Oct. 24 on westbound I-694 in Brooklyn Center

ROSEVILLE, Minn.— Ongoing concrete pavement repair will require another overnight lane closure Thursday, Oct. 24 on westbound Interstate 694 at Highway 100 in Brooklyn Center, weather permitting. The westbound interstate will close at 11 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24 and will reopen to traffic by 5 a.m. Friday, Oct. 25.  Additional overnight lane closures may be needed Friday night to complete concrete grinding to smooth the roadway surface however a full closure will not be needed.

Motorist should detour south on Highway 100, west on I-394 and north on I-494 to avoid the closure.

An additional overnight closure on westbound I-694 is planned sometime next week to saw and seal expansion joints in the concrete. (The joints are cut through the concrete across the traffic lanes to allow the concrete to expand and contract with temperature changes so the road doesn’t crack). Additional information will be sent out when the date is determined.
