Orange barrels on a highway

Overnight work will require ramp closures at I-694, I-35W interchange in Arden Hills, New Brighton

ROSEVILLE, Minn.— Motorists traveling on eastbound I-694 in the Twin Cities north central suburbs may encounter overnight ramp and loop closures at I-35W tonight and tomorrow night. All ramps and loops between eastbound I-694 and I-35W on the border of Arden Hills and New Brighton will be closed at some point tonight (but not all at the same time). Construction crews will diamond grind pavement on the eastbound interstate to improve the pavement surface and reduce noise from motor vehicles.

Work is set to begin at midnight and will be completed by 5 a.m. Wednesday. If needed, crews also will work overnight from midnight Wednesday until 5 a.m. Thursday in the same location.

Concrete pavement repair, drainage improvements and bridge deck replacement began in mid-June on I-694 between Hwy 100 in Brooklyn Center and I-35W in Arden Hills. Work continues on the westbound lanes of the interstate and traffic is restricted to two lanes during the daytime and a single lane overnight between I-35W and East River Road until mid-November.
