Gateway State Trail scheduled to close Oct. 28

Closure needed for continued Cayuga project construction

ROSEVILLE, Minn. – St. Paul pedestrians and bicyclists will encounter a closure as the Gateway State Trail between L’Orient Street and Cayuga Street closes early Monday, Oct. 28.

Pedestrians and bicyclists will be detoured to East Cayuga Street, Jackson Street, Maryland Avenue and L’Orient Street to bypass the closure. The trail will remain closed for approximately one week.

The closure is needed for construction activities associated with the I-35E Cayuga improvement project. Pedestrians and bicyclists are reminded to approach areas near construction with caution and to pay attention to posted signage.

The work is part of the I-35E Cayuga improvement project, which includes reconstructing I-35E between University Avenue and Maryland Avenue, including replacement of the Cayuga Bridge, the Pennsylvania Avenue Bridge and the railroad bridges along I-35E.
