Final weekend of westbound I-694 closures set this weekend in Arden Hills, New Brighton
ROSEVILLE, Minn.— The third and final weekend of closures on westbound Interstate 694 between I-35W and Long Lake Road in Arden Hills and New Brighton is planned Friday evening, Oct. 11, through Monday morning, Oct. 14. During the weekend closure, crews will complete concrete pavement repair in the interchange and place a protective sealant on the deck of the westbound I-694 bridge over I-35W.
Beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 11, the westbound interstate will be reduced to a single lane of traffic and will close to traffic at 10 p.m. Weather permitting, the roadway will reopen to traffic by 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 14.
While the interstate is closed, the ramps from northbound and southbound I-35W to westbound I-694 also will close.
During the closure, motorists will detour on I-35W, west on Hwy 10 and Hwy 610 and back south on Hwy 252 to reach the westbound interstate.
Concrete pavement repair, drainage improvements and bridge deck replacement began in mid-June on I-694 between Hwy 100 in Brooklyn Center and Interstate 35W in Arden Hills. Work is expected to be completed by mid-November.
