Weekend closure of I-35E in St. Paul scheduled for Oct. 18-21
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists will encounter delays and a detour on both directions of Interstate 35E as the roadway closes between I-94 in St. Paul and Highway 36 in Little Canada on Friday, Oct. 18.
Ramps within the closure area will begin closing at approximately 9 p.m., Oct. 18, and I-35E will close at 10 p.m. Motorists will be detoured on Highway 36, I-694 and I-94 to bypass the closure. The roadway is scheduled to reopen by 5 a.m., Monday, Oct. 21.
The closure is needed to place a pipe beneath I-35E near Cayuga Street. The work is weather permitting and may be rescheduled in the case of inclement weather.
The work is part of the I-35E Cayuga improvement project, which includes to reconstructing I-35E between University Avenue and Maryland Avenue, and replacing the Cayuga Bridge, the Pennsylvania Avenue Bridge and the railroad bridges along I-35E. Read more about the Cayuga project at:
