Orange barrels on a highway

Eastbound I-694 ramp to Hwy 65 (Central Avenue) opens tonight

Additional ramp closures planned this week on I-694 in north central suburbs

ROSEVILLE, Minn.—  Interstate 694 commuters should get some relief tonight when the ramp from eastbound I-694 to Highway 65 (Central Avenue) in Fridley reopens tonight.

However, at the same time, the ramp from eastbound I-694 to Highway 47 (University Avenue) will close tonight for approximately 10 days and the ramp from East River Road to eastbound I-694 will close Wednesday night, Sept. 4 until mid-September.

A short-term closure also is planned for tomorrow on the ramps from eastbound I-694 to Silver Lake Road and Silver Lake Road to eastbound I-694. The two ramps will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for diamond grinding. The procedure will smooth the surface of the new concrete pavement on the ramps

The ramps between I-694 and Long Lake Road reopened to traffic on Friday night, Aug. 30.

Motorists should watch for lane and ramp closures and follow detour signs during concrete pavement repair, storm sewer improvements and bridge repairs along the I-694 Corridor between I-35W in Arden Hills and Highway 100 in Brooklyn Center. Work is expected to be complete in early November.
