Orange barrels on a highway

Hwy 61 loop to Hwy 36 in Maplewood scheduled to close Sept. 24

Loop will be closed until early October

ROSEVILLE, Minn. — Motorists may encounter delays when the loop from northbound Highway 61 to westbound Highway 36 closes at 5 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24.

The loop closure is necessary to construct a new infiltration pond in the loop.

Motorists are advised to follow the posted detour using eastbound Highway 36, English Street and westbound Highway 36.

The loop will re-open by 10 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, weather permitting.

When completed later this year, the $17.3 million project will improve safety and improve pedestrian and bicycle facilities along the Highway 36 corridor. More information about the project is available at mndot.gov/metro/projects/hwy36maplewood/.
