Open house for I-494/I-35W interchange layout development and transit options scheduled for Oct. 3
ROSEVILLE, Minn. — Motorists, the business community and residents are invited to an informal open house to learn about the Interstate 494/I-35W Interchange layout development and transitway options.
The self-directed open house will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the community room at St. Richard’s Catholic Church, 7540 Penn Avenue S, Richfield.
Open house attendees will have an opportunity to review and provide feedback on the preliminary design concepts for the interchange and transitway options. Representatives from the Minnesota Department of Transportation, Metro Transit and from the cities of Bloomington and Richfield will be available to answer questions.
The purpose of the study is to develop a recommended concept for the I-494/I-35W interchange that addresses safety, congestion, and roadway stormwater drainage issues. This project includes an integrated partnership with Metro Transit to identify options for a new transitway station and park-and-ride facility near American Boulevard to serve the planned METRO Orange Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT).
