Gateway State Trail anticipated to re-open today

ROSEVILLE, Minn. — The Gateway State Trail between L’Orient Street and Cayuga Street just west of
Interstate 35E is anticipated to reopen to pedestrians and bicyclists after 5 p.m. today, Sept. 13.

The trail has been closed for area tree and brush removal as part of the I-35E Cayuga construction project. Access to the trail from the east side of I-35E at Case Avenue/Mississippi Street remains closed due to roadway construction activities. Pedestrians and bicyclists are advised to use alternate entrances to access the trail. Trail maps can be found on the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources website.

The work is part of the I-35E Cayuga improvement project, which includes reconstructing I-35E between University Avenue and Maryland Avenue, including replacement of the Cayuga Bridge, the Pennsylvania Avenue Bridge and the railroad bridges along I-35E.
