Weekend closures for eastbound I-694 in Arden Hills begin Sept. 13
Roadway and interchange repairs scheduled throughout the weekend
ST. PAUL, Minn. — Eastbound Interstate 694 between I-35W and Lexington Avenue will close this weekend as crews continue repairing the concrete pavement on the roadway.
Beginning at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, eastbound I-694 between I-35W and Lexington Avenue will be reduced to a single lane. At 10 p.m. the roadway will close.
At the same day and time, the ramp from eastbound I-694 to northbound I-35W and the ramps from northbound and southbound I-35W to eastbound I-694 will close. The roadway and the ramps will re-open by 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 16.
During the weekend closure, motorists will be detoured to southbound I-35W, eastbound Highway 36 and northbound I-35E.
Besides repairing the concrete, crews will also work on the I-694/Highway 10/Snelling and Hamline Avenue interchange.
If all goes as planned, this will be the final weekend closure on the eastbound interstate in the area. However, there are future weekend closures planned for westbound I-694 in the same area. Specific information about future closures will be announced as soon as they are determined.
Crews began repairing the pavement, replacing the bridge deck and making roadway drainage improvements on I-694 between Highway 100 in Brooklyn Center and I- 35W in Arden Hills in mid-June. Work is expected to be complete by mid-November.
