Orange barrels on a highway

Traffic switch planned for Hwy 169 between Shakopee and Bloomington

Crews continue work on the Bloomington Ferry Bridge project

ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists will continue to see delays as both directions of Hwy 169 between Shakopee and Bloomington are reduced to a single lane.

Beginning August 7, both northbound and southbound traffic on Hwy 169 between Hwy 101 and Old Shakopee Road will be shifted to the south side of the road in a single lane, head-to-head configuration.

The traffic shift will be complete before 6 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 8.

At the same day and time, the following ramps to and from southbound Hwy 169 will open and northbound ramps to and from Hwy 169 will close:

  • Pioneer Trail
  • Old Shakopee Road
  • Hwy 101
  • County Road 21

All lanes and ramps are scheduled to re-open by Friday, Aug. 23.
Motorists are advised to follow the signed detour for ramp closures or to find alternative routes to help minimize delays.  Suggested alternatives include: Hwy 41, Hwy 101 and I-35W.

These closures are necessary as crews replace joints on the Bloomington Ferry Bridge and make other improvements in the area.
