Orange barrels on a highway

Date change--Single-lane traffic on Interstate 35 scheduled to begin Sept. 3

ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists will encounter delays as both directions of Interstate 35 between Elko/New Market and Lakeville will be reduced to a single lane as crews repair the concrete pavement to provide a smoother and safer ride for motorists.

Beginning at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, crews will begin the process of reducing both directions of I-35 between County Road 2 and County Road 70 to a single lane.

By 5 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, both northbound and southbound traffic will be a single lane on the same side of the road.  All lanes will re-open in early November.

In addition, Monday, Sept. 23, single-lane traffic on I-35 will be extended to County Road 50 and the northbound I-35 ramps from County Road 60/185th Street and to County Road 50 also will close.

Motorists are advised to follow the signed detour for ramp closures or to find alternative routes to help minimize delays.

All work is weather permitting and could change for inclement weather.
