Overnight I-35E lane closure occur Aug. 5-8


Cayuga project continues

ROSEVILLE, Minn. – St. Paul area motorists may experience delays as overnight lane closures occur on both directions of I-35E between Wheelock Parkway and I-94 Aug. 5-8.

The following lane closures are anticipated to occur:

  • Monday, Aug. 5: The right lane of southbound I-35E will close at 7 p.m. An additional lane will close at 10 p.m. All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. Aug. 6
  • Tuesday, Aug. 6: The right lane of southbound I-35E will close at 7 p.m. An additional lane will close at 10 p.m. Additionally, the ramp from Maryland Avenue to southbound I-35E will close from 11 p.m. until 2 a.m. All lanes of I-35E will reopen by 5 a.m. Aug. 7
  • Wednesday, Aug. 7: The left lane and center lane of southbound I-35E will close at 10 p.m. All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. Aug. 8
  • Thursday, Aug. 8: The left lane and center lane of northbound I-35E will close at 10 p.m. All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. Aug. 9

The lane closures are needed as crews shift lanes to the west in preparation for northbound I-35E reconstruction.

The work is part of the I-35E Cayuga improvement project, which aims to reconstruct I-35E between University Avenue and Maryland Avenue, including replacement of the Cayuga Bridge, the Pennsylvania Avenue Bridge and the railroad bridges along I-35E.
