Maryland Avenue ramp closures scheduled to begin Sept. 9

Ramps will be closed for approximately three months

ROSEVILLE, Minn. – St. Paul area motorists may experience delays and detours as the ramp from northbound Interstate 35E to Maryland Avenue and the ramp from Maryland Avenue to southbound I-35E close early morning Monday, Sept. 9.

The following detours will be posted for motorists:

  • Northbound I-35E to Maryland Avenue: Northbound on I-35E to the Wheelock Parkway/Larpenteur Avenue interchange to southbound I-35E to Maryland Avenue
  • Maryland Avenue to southbound I-35E:  Northbound I-35E to the Wheelock Parkway/Larpenteur Avenue interchange to southbound I-35E

The ramp closures are needed to allow crews to reconstruct northbound I-35E between Cayuga Street and Maryland Avenue. The ramps are anticipated to re-open by early December.

The work is part of the I-35E Cayuga improvement project, which includes reconstructing I-35E between University Avenue and Maryland Avenue, and replacement of the Cayuga Bridge, the Pennsylvania Avenue Bridge and the railroad bridges along I-35E.
