170th Street closure in Hugo starts July 8

Construction on the Hwy 61/170th Street roundabout continues

ROSEVILLE, Minn. - Motorists will encounter a detour on 170th Street N. (County Road 4) just east of Hwy 61 in Hugo as crews continue to construct  a single-lane roundabout.

At 9 a.m. Monday, July 8, the intersection of 170th Street N. (County Road 4) and Hwy 61 will close, weather permitting.

170th Street N (County Road 4A) west of Hwy 61 will re-open on that same day.

Hwy 61,170th Street N. (County Road 4A) west of Hwy 61 and the Hardwood Creek Trail will remain open to traffic during this stage of construction.

Hwy 61 traffic will be bypassed onto a temporary roadway with an all way stop at 170th Street N. (County Road 4A).

Motorists are advised to follow the posted detour to Forest Blvd/Hwy 61 to Hwy 97 to Manning Avenue/County Rd. 15 then back to 170th Street N. County Rd. 4.

The 170th St N (County Road 4) will re-open by mid-August.

Project construction is expected to be complete by Aug. 31. Landscaping crews will continue to work at the project site into the fall.
