UPDATED: Gateway State Trail closed through early August 2013

Closure needed for continued Cayuga project construction

ROSEVILLE, Minn. – St. Paul area bicyclists and pedestrians will continue to experience a closure as the Gateway State Trail remains closed between L’Orient Street and Cayuga Street just west of I-35E.

The trail closure is needed for area tree and brush removal, in anticipation of future construction. Bicyclists and pedestrians are encouraged to use alternate routes. Bicycle maps and other city maps are available on the city of St. Paul’s website. The trail is anticipated to reopen by early August 2013. Future trail closures will occur for area construction; updates will be made in advance of the closures.

The work is part of the I-35E Cayuga improvement project, which aims to reconstruct I-35E between University Avenue and Maryland Avenue, including replacement of the Cayuga Bridge, the Pennsylvania Avenue Bridge and the railroad bridges along I-35E.
