Bruce Vento Trail in Maplewood re-routed today

A section of the trail closed to build a new pedestrian bridge

ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Pedestrians and bicyclists will encounter a closure and detour on the Bruce Vento Trail between Cope Avenue and Gervais Avenue in Maplewood as this section of the trail closed on July 1.

The closure is necessary as crews construct a new pedestrian bridge spanning Highway 36.

Trail goers will be re-routed using Cope Avenue, Hazelwood Street, and Gervais Avenue to access Bruce Vento Trail.

White paint lines mark the temporary trail on Cope, Hazelwood and Gervais, and a trail crossing will be installed at Hwy 36.

This section of the trail is expected to re-open by August 21.

The work is part of the larger Highway 36 and English Street project. When completed later this year, the $17.3 million project will improve safety as well as improve pedestrian and bicycle facilities along the Highway 36 corridor.
