Orange barrels on a highway

Overnight closure of I-35W scheduled for July 10

Crews continue constructing the Park Avenue and Portland Avenue Bridges

ROSEVILLE, Minn. — Motorists in Minneapolis will encounter an overnight detour on northbound Interstate 35W as crews close the roadway to set the bridge beams for the Park Avenue Bridge.

At 10 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, northbound I-35W between Highway 65 and Park Avenue and the 5th Avenue ramp (also known as the Franklin Avenue Ramp) will close. The roadway and ramp will re-open by 5 a.m. Thursday, July 11.

During the road closure I-35W traffic will be detoured to westbound I-94 and to eastbound I-694.
Motorists are reminded that I-694 between Arden Hills/New Brighton and Hwy 100 in Brooklyn Center is under major construction and traffic delays are expected. Drivers should plan for extended commute times or look for alternate routes.
