Hwy 65 in Spring Lake Park scheduled to close June 14

The Spring Lake Park pedestrian bridge spanning Hwy 65 also will close

ROSEVILLE, Minn. — Motorists will experience delays as both directions of Highway 65 between Osborne Road N.E. and 81st Avenue N.E. close at 10 p.m. Friday, June 14.

The full closure is necessary as crews remove the deck of the Spring Lake Park Pedestrian Bridge that spans the roadway. Both directions of Highway 65 will re-open at 5 a.m. Monday, June 17.

Beginning at 7 a.m. Monday, June 10, the bridge will be closed to pedestrians and bicyclists in preparation of the deck construction. The bridge will re-open to pedestrians by Aug. 30.

Residents who live near the workzone will hear construction noise overnight as crews update the bridge railing and prepare to install a new bridge deck.

Motorists may bypass the closed segment by utilizing the posted detour of I-694 to I-35W.

The work is part of the Spring Lake Park pedestrian bridge renewal project. The bridge, which spans Highway 65 at 80th Avenue N.E., will undergo renovation and pedestrian accessibility upgrades.
