Overnight traffic restrictions planned tonight, tomorrow night on westbound I-694 at Lexington Avenue in Arden Hills
Closures needed for traffic switch at Lexington Avenue
ROSEVILLE, Minn. — Interstate 694 will be restricted to a single lane of traffic overnight Wednesday, June 5 and Thursday, June 6 as crews switch traffic to begin construction of the new westbound lanes of Interstate 694 between Lexington Avenue and Highway 10 in Arden Hills.
The westbound interstate will be restricted to a single lane from 7 p.m. until 3 a.m. each night to move barrier to shift traffic to the south side of the roadway between Lexington Avenue and the Highway 10 Diagonal (which remains closed until late this fall). The ramp from Lexington Avenue to the westbound interstate also remains closed until November 2013.
During the overnight lane closures, motorists should allow for extra travel time.
Major reconstruction at the interchange of Interstate 694 and Highway 10 at Snelling Avenue and Hamline Avenue in Arden Hills began last fall. The two-year project includes reconstruction of the surrounding roadways between I-35W and Victoria Street along with the Island Lake bridges east of the interchange between Lexington Avenue and Victoria Street.
In addition to rebuilding the surrounding highways, the project will rebuild bridges in the corridor and will improve safety and mobility.
