Stillwater Lift Bridge scheduled to close at noon tomorrow
Crews to replace damaged cable
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists will encounter delays when the Stillwater Lift Bridge closes at 12 p.m. Wednesday, June 19.
The closure is necessary as crews begin repairing cable and inspecting the bridge lift system. MnDOT was able to locate the needed cable locally for the bridge.
The bridge is expected to re-open to motorists by 4 p.m.
Crews expect to have the lift bridge fully- operational and open to water traffic by the end of week, weather permitting.
On Sunday night, a bridge operator detected a frayed cable on the lift system of the bridge. As a precaution, the normal lift schedule was suspended.
