Orange barrels on a highway

Time change—Southbound I-35E single lane begins today

Single lane will occur earlier than expected due to impending rain

(Roseville, Minn.) – Motorists will encounter delays as both directions of Interstate 35E in Burnsville will be reduced to a single lane as crews repair concrete pavement to provide a smoother and safer ride for motorists.

Crews are currently working on southbound I-35E between the I-35/35W/35E split and Cedar Avenue.  It will be reduced to a single lane earlier than previously anticipated. The time change is needed for the type of work (painting and marking) which cannot be completed if the forecasted rain occurs.

Beginning at 12 a.m. Saturday, June 15, both directions of I-35E between the I-35E and I-35/35W/35E split and Cedar Avenue will be reduced to a single lane.

Both northbound and southbound traffic will be moved to the same side of the road and remain a single lane in each direction through mid-July.

The northbound I-35E ramps at County Road 11 will close at 10 p.m. Friday, June 14 and are expected to re-open on July 1.

All work is weather permitting and could change for inclement weather.
