Hwy 7 and Louisiana Avenue interchange construction begins June 17

Lane closures and detours are planned and will likely result in road congestion   
Roseville, Minn. – Construction on the new interchange at Hwy 7 and Louisiana Avenue in St. Louis Park is scheduled to begin Monday, June 17.

Construction work includes converting the existing intersection into an interchange, constructing a diamond interchange with a Hwy 7 bridge spanning Louisiana Avenue, adding roundabouts on Louisiana Avenue at the Lake Street and Walker Street intersections, reconfiguring West Lake Street and Walker Street, and adding pedestrian and bicycle upgrades that meet modern accessibility requirements.

The purpose of the project, led by the City of St. Louis Park, is to improve access, safety and operations for several modes of transportation including vehicle, pedestrian, and bicycle modes, transit and freight flow.
