Bridges at West 82nd and 86th Street spanning I-35W to close May 13

Bridge construction is part of the I-35/35E improvement project between Elko and Eagan

ROSEVILLE, MN – Motorists traveling on West 82nd and West 86th Streets in Bloomington will encounter delays and detours as crews close the bridges spanning Interstate 35W at 5 a.m. Monday, May 13. In addition, motorists may encounter overnight I-35W lane closures near the two bridges.

At 5 a.m. May 13, the eastbound lanes on the West 82nd Street Bridge will close, and eastbound motorists are advised to follow the posted detours. Once repairs are complete, crews will re-open the eastbound lanes and close the westbound lanes. Both directions of the bridge will open on May 23.

At the same time and date, crews also will close the West 86th Street Bridge to repair the bridge deck and bridge joints. The bridge will re-open May 26. Motorists are advised to follow the posted detours.

In addition, the West 90th Street Bridge will close in July. Construction on the 90th Street Bridge will parallel a City of Bloomington’s project to reconstruct 90th Street between Penn and Lyndale Avenues.
