Week-long closure of Gateway State Trail in East Metro starts May 12
ROSEVILLE, Minn. — Both directions of the Gateway State Trail tunnel beneath Highway 36 in Pine springs and Lake Elmo will close temporarily at 10 p.m. Sunday, May 12.
The trail closure is necessary as crews perform drainage work along the trail as part of the Highway 36/Hilton Trail reconstruction project.
The trail is scheduled to reopen by 5 a.m. Monday, May 20.
Gateway State Trail is an 18-mile multi-use trail located between St. Paul and Washington County. The western portion of the trail runs through St. Paul, Maplewood and North St Paul, passing through Phalen-Keller Regional Park.
