Spring Lake Park pedestrian bridge renovation starts May 6
Full closure scheduled for June 14-17
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists will experience delays on northbound Hwy 65 as crews begin work to rehabilitate the Spring Lake Park pedestrian bridge at 7 a.m. Monday, May 6.
The bridge, which spans Highway 65 at 80th Avenue N.E., will undergo renovation and pedestrian accessibility upgrades.
Initially, motorists can expect short-term traffic restrictions, including reduced speeds, shoulder and off-peak lane closures upon approaching the workzone.
As construction continues, a full closure of both directions of Hwy 65 between 81st Avenue N.E. and Osborne Road is scheduled for 10 p.m. Friday, June 14 through 5 a.m. Monday, June 17. The full closure will be necessary as crews remove the existing bridge deck.
In addition, residents living near the structure will encounter construction activity as crews construct the first of two pedestrian ramps on the east side of the bridge.
The bridge will close to pedestrians on June 10 as crews install a new bridge deck, update the bridge railing and paint the steel beams.
The bridge will re-open to pedestrians by Aug. 30.
