Crews to replace gearbox in main lift section

ROSEVILLE, Minn., – Boaters and other water traffic on the St. Croix River may experience delays on Tuesday, May 21 as crews complete the scheduled replacement of a gearbox inside the Stillwater Lift Bridge.

The lift span will remain in the down position between 8 a.m. and noon and will not affect motor vehicle traffic on the bridge.

Replacement of the gearbox is the final step of the 2012 Stillwater Lift Bridge rehabilitation project, which included steel connection repair, concrete surface repair and the repair of various other mechanical and electrical components.
