Overnight I-494 lane and ramp closures start tonight


Freeway ramps and lanes will re-open the day following the closures

Roseville, Minn – During the evenings this week, motorists may experience delays as lane closures take place on both directions of Interstate 494 between Highway100 and Xerxes and between Penn Avenue and South 12th Avenue.

At 10 p.m. May 13 through May 17, both directions of I-494 will be reduced to a single lane between Highway 100 and Xerxes Avenue. All lanes will re-open by 5 a.m. daily through May 17, and by 8 a.m. Saturday, May 18.

At 7 p.m. Monday, May 13 through Thursday, May 16, the outside shoulder lane of westbound I-494 between 12th Avenue South and Portland Avenue will close. All shoulders will re-open by 5 a.m. the following day.

At 7 p.m. Monday, May 13, the ramp from 12th Avenue South to eastbound I-494 will close. At the same day and time, the ramp from westbound I-494 to 12th Avenue South also will close. All ramps will re-open by 5 a.m. the following day.

At 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, the ramp from eastbound I-494 to Nicollet Avenue and the ramp from Nicollet Avenue to eastbound I-494 will close. The ramp from Nicollet Avenue to westbound I-494 also will close. The ramps will re-open by 5 a.m. the following day.

At 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15, the ramp from northbound I-35W to eastbound I-494 and the ramp from eastbound I-494 to southbound I-35W will close. At the same day and time, the ramp from westbound I-494 to northbound I-35W will close. The ramps will re-open by 5 a.m. the following day.

At 9 p.m. Thursday, May 16 the ramp from eastbound I-494 to Penn Ave South and the ramp from Penn Avenue South to eastbound I-494 will close. The closures are necessary as crews work in the center lanes and medians and on the bridges and ramps.
