Two Hwy 65 (Central Avenue) median crossovers in Fridley closing next week

ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Two median crossovers separating northbound and southbound Hwy 65 in Fridley will be closed permanently by 3 p.m. Thursday, May 16, weather permitting.

The crossovers are closing in an effort to improve Hwy 65 safety.

The crossovers are located at Fireside Drive/Center Circle, north of 73rd Avenue N.E., and at 68th Avenue N.E.  Motorists will still be able to make right turns in or out of either intersection, and the surface street access to Hwy 65 also will be accessible.

A pedestrian bridge spanning Hwy 65 at 80th Avenue N.E. in Spring Lake Park is currently under construction.

A Hwy 65 pavement improvement project is scheduled to begin in 2014.  To learn more about the project, visit http://www.dot.state.mn.us/metro/projects/hwy65springlake/index.html
