Northbound Hwy 52 closing overnight April 4
Crossover construction for Lafayette Bridge continues

ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Northbound Hwy 52 motorists may experience delays on the roadway between Concord Street and I- 94 at 9 p.m. Thursday, April 4.

Motorists are advised to follow the posted detour during the closure.

Northbound Hwy 52 is expected to reopen by 5 a.m. Friday, April 5.

The closure is necessary as crews cast concrete deck for a cross-over as part of construction on the new Lafayette Bridge. When the crossover is completed and traffic shifted to it on April 19 and 20, weather permitting, all vehicles or vehicle combinations of  35 feet or longer will be prohibited from crossing the Mississippi River on the Highway 52 Lafayette Bridge and must exit prior to or at Plato Boulevard.

Emergency vehicles will be permitted to use the crossover.

The temporary bypass also is being built to accommodate Central Corridor Light Rail Transit’s (CCLRT) construction schedule.
