Forecasted wind and cold extend I-494 lane closures into next week
Bridge beam placement delayed

Roseville, MN – Cold temperatures and windy conditions will push night-time and overnight I-494 lane closures between France and Penn Avenues in Bloomington, to early next week.

Eastbound I-494 will be reduced to a single lane at 10 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12 and Wednesday, Feb. 13. Lanes will re-open at 6 a.m. on Feb. 13 and 14.

In addition, westbound I-494 will be reduced to a single lane at 10 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18 and at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 19. All westbound lanes will re-open at 6 a.m. on Feb. 19 and 20.

Motorists should watch for intermittent full closures of up to 15 minutes on both directions of the freeway as construction crews set bridge beams spanning the roadway. These short-term full closures will occur during the overnight hours on Feb. 12 and 13, and on Feb. 18 and 19.

Southtown Drive, between the Wells Fargo property and Cowboy Jack’s, and Xerxes Avenue between American Boulevard and Southtown Drive, closed at 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10. These local streets will re-open by noon Thursday, Feb 14. Motorists are advised to follow the posted detours to access area businesses.
