Reminder: Hwy 12 overnight closure occurs tonight, Sept. 7
Closure time extended due to inclement weather last night, Sept. 6

ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists will experience delays and detours on both directions of Hwy 12 between Hennepin County Road 90 and Hennepin County Road 6 in Maple Plain  as the roadway closes overnight for resurfacing Friday, Sept. 7.

The closure will begin at 7 p.m., and reopen by 8 a.m. Sept. 8. Previously scheduled to reopen by 5:30 a.m., the closure time was extended due to inclement weather Sept. 6 that caused the cancellation of overnight resurfacing.

Motorists will be directed to use Hennepin County Road 90 and Hennepin County Road 6 to bypass the closure. Access for local residents and businesses in Maple Plain will be maintained.

This is the last anticipated overnight closure for resurfacing work in the project area. Area residents should be aware of additional overnight noise in the area during this work. The work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled in the case of inclement weather.

The entire project is anticipated to be substantially completed the week of Sept. 10.

The Hwy 12 Better Roads resurfacing project includes resurfacing Hwy 12 to preserve the lifespan of the roadway and create a smoother ride for motorists, adding left turn lanes west of County Road 83/Halgren Road to enhance safety, and reconstructing the intersection of Hwy 12/Oak Street to enhance motorist safety and upgrade accessibility for pedestrians.
