Lane and ramp closures at Hwy 169/I-494 occur tonight, Sept. 5
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists will experience delays as ramp and lane closures occur at the Hwy 169/I-494 interchange in Bloomington, Edina and Eden Prairie overnight Wednesday, Sept. 5.
The loop ramp from northbound Hwy 169 to westbound I-494 will close at midnight. During the closure, access from Hwy 169 to westbound I-494 will be available via Hwy 212.
In addition, the right lane of northbound Hwy 169 will close between Anderson Lakes Parkway and I-494 at 11 p.m.
Both the loop ramp and all lanes of Hwy 169 will reopen by 5 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 6. The closures are necessary as crews install overhead signage above the ramp and freeway.
The Hwy 169/I-494 interchange reconstruction project includes turning the current expressway into a freeway by rebuilding the interchange with six ramps instead of eight. The performance-based design removes traffic signals, reduces congestion and improves safety.
