Comment period opens for I-94/Brockton Lane Interchange project’s Environmental Assessment Worksheet

(Roseville, Minn.) – Those interested in reviewing and commenting on the Environmental Assessment Worksheet (EAW) for the Interstate 94/Brockton Lane interchange project in the city of Dayton may do so Monday, Sept. 3 through Wednesday, Oct. 3.

The EAW identifies environmental resources and existing conditions surrounding the Interstate 94/Brockton Lane area, information for consideration with future project environmental reviews, and potential environmental effects of the project.

The Interstate 94/Brockton Lane interchange project involves preservation of an interchange “footprint” along Interstate 94 and a new roadway alignment between Brockton Lane and County Hwy 81. The project also includes auxiliary lane improvements to Interstate 94 from the Brockton Lane area to the future Interstate 94/Hwy 610 interchange. Preservation of the interchange “footprint” will support the long-term growth and land use plans for adjacent communities. The project is not currently programmed for construction.

The public is invited to an open house on Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012 to comment on the EAW. The open house will occur from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Dayton Senior Center (18461 Dayton Street, Dayton, MN 55327).

The project is a collaborative effort led by the city of Dayton. Copies of the EAW will be available for public review on the project’s web site and at the following locations:
