Short-term I-494 lane closures occur tonight
Lane closures will take place in Bloomington, Edina and Eden Prairie
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists will experience delays on both directions of I-494 between Hwy 100 and Hwy 212 in Bloomington, Edina and Eden Prairie as late-night lane closures occur Wednesday, Sept. 26.
The three left lanes of westbound I-494 will close between Hwy 100 and Hwy 169 at 10 p.m. At the same time, the two right lanes of eastbound I-494 will close between Hwy 212 and West Bush Lake Road.
The lane closures are necessary as crews install signs on the new flyover ramp bridge from westbound
I-494 to southbound Hwy 169. All lanes will reopen by 12:30 a.m., Sept. 27.
The Hwy 169/I-494 interchange reconstruction project includes turning the current expressway into a freeway by rebuilding the interchange with six ramps instead of eight. The performance-based design removes traffic signals, reduces congestion and improves safety.
