Lane and ramp closures at Hwy 169/I-494 occur nightly Sept. 18-20
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists will experience delays as nightly ramp and lane closures occur at the Hwy 169/I-494 interchange in Bloomington, Edina and Eden Prairie Sept. 18-20.
The loop ramp from northbound Hwy 169 to westbound I-494 will close nightly at 10 p.m. During the closure, access from Hwy 169 to westbound I-494 will be available via Hwy 212.
In addition, lane closures on both directions of Hwy 169 between I-494 and Anderson Lakes Parkway will begin at 7 p.m. each night.
The restrictions are necessary as crews continue painting the new flyover bridges from westbound I-494 to northbound and southbound Hwy 169. The loop ramp and all lanes will reopen at 5 a.m. each day following the closures.
The Hwy 169/I-494 interchange reconstruction project includes turning the current expressway into a freeway by rebuilding the interchange with six ramps instead of eight. The performance-based design removes traffic signals, reduces congestion and improves safety.
