At 8 p.m. Sept. 11, westbound I-94 will be reduced to two lanes at Chatsworth Street and the left lane and shoulder of eastbound I-94 will close. At 10 p.m. westbound I-94 will be reduced to a single lane. All lanes will reopen by 5:30 a.m. the next day.
The lane closures are needed so crews can place bridge beams on the new Chatsworth Pedestrian Bridge.
In addition, restrictions in downtown St. Paul will also occur Sept. 10 for continued work on the Cedar Street Bridge as part of the Central Corridor Light Rail Transit (CCLRT) construction.
At 7 p.m. westbound I-94 will be reduced to two lanes at 12th Street, and the ramp from westbound I-94 to southbound I-35E will be closed. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes to access southbound I-35E.
Additional overnight restrictions are anticipated throughout the week in downtown St. Paul for CCLRT construction. Updates will be made in advance of the nightly closures. For more information about the project visit http://www.metrocouncil.org/transportation/ccorridor/centralcorridor.asp.
