I-694 traffic changes to occur in Oakdale, Maplewood
Expect lane, ramp closures
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – Motorists will continue to experience delays on I-694 between Hwy 61 and 40th Street North in Oakdale, Mahtomedi, Vadnais Heights, White Bear Lake and Maplewood as traffic remains reduced to a single lane in each direction.
Northbound/westbound traffic will no longer crossover to the eastbound/south side of the road near Hwy 5. Instead, northbound/westbound traffic will travel north in a single lane on the new concrete road through the Hwy 36 interchange.
Westbound/northbound traffic will transfer to the eastbound/southbound side of the roadway just west of the Hwy 36 interchange.
The ramps to and from westbound I-694 at Hwy 120 will close on Friday, Aug. 10, while the ramp from westbound I-694 to Hwy 61 will close Monday, Aug. 13 as construction on the ramp begins.
The ramp from westbound I-694 to White Bear Ave will open Friday, Aug. 10 and I-694 ramps to and from Hwy 36 are expected to open Saturday, Aug. 11.
Traffic will remain a single lane in each direction through early November as crews resurface the roadway to provide a smoother and safer ride for motorists.
Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes and follow posted detours for ramp closures.
