The road will reopen daily by 5 a.m. through Aug. 9.

In addition crews will be working 24 hours a day Aug. 6 and 7 to install a new pipe line on Hwy 5 west of Bavaria.

The work is part of a larger project to improve Hwy 5 between Victoria and Chanhassen. To sign up for the project’s Email Updates or for more information visit the project’s web site at All residences and businesses will remain accessible during the project.

When complete, the project will resurface and widen shoulders on four miles of busy highway, improve bike and pedestrian facilities, increase roadway efficiency by adding turn lanes at busy intersections, improve drainage and result in a smoother ride.
